PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an equipment structure designing method and an equipment structure design support device for selecting optimal structure/materials while suppressing costs and risk costs relating to design/material/manufacturing to a predetermined value or less on the basis of design specifications. SOLUTION: This equipment structure design support device is provided with: a design specification input means 4 for prompting the input of design specification information of the structure and materials of an equipment structure or the like; a structure parameter setting means 5 for setting a structure parameter from the specification information; a material parameter setting means 6 for setting a material parameter from the design specification information with the statistical distribution; a use condition calculating means 7 for calculating use conditions such as the temperature/stress/distortion of the equipment structure from the structure parameter and the material parameter; an event occurrence probability evaluation means 8 for calculating the occurrence probability of the event to be designed in a predetermined period; a risk evaluation means 9 for evaluating a risk from the product of the occurrence probability and a damage amount; and a cost evaluation means 10 for calculating material costs from the structure parameter and the material parameter.
