PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner in which contamination of a polygon mirror due to a turbulent flow is remarkably reduced. SOLUTION: In the optical scanner, a luminous flux from a light source is deflected with a polygon mirror 32, and is focused as a light spot on a photoconductive photoreceptor 15 with a scanning and focusing optical system fitted on an optical housing 40 and scans the photoreceptor. A trap member 50 having an integrated structure of a plurality of sheet members including a highly charged electrostatic trap filter 51 which traps fine particles or the like is arranged in the optical housing 40.
