PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress reduction in transmittance of a pixel and to suppress color change generated by change of a visual angle in a liquid crystal display device wherein an alignment direction of a liquid crystal molecule is controlled by an electric field between electrodes on the same substrate. SOLUTION: Thin film transistors TR each connected to a gate line GL and a display signal line DL, a pixel electrode 19, an insulating film 20 and a common electrode 21 are disposed on a TFT substrate 10. A liquid crystal layer LC in contact with alignment layers 22 and 23 is disposed on the common electrode 21. When this structure is two-dimensionally viewed, each slit S of common electrodes 21A and 21B of each pixel 1A and 1B adjacent to each other sandwiching the gate line GL is extended obliquely in reverse directions on the basis of the display signal line DL. Constituent elements other than each pixel 1A and 1B, or the thin film transistors TR and the like, are also formed in mirror-inverted patterns on the basis of the display signal line DL.
