PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus and an inkjet recording method capable of facilitating shortening a time for recording. SOLUTION: When indication on formation of dots 85 on respective rows in two consecutive lines is≤1 time on all the N rows, on recording data RD having a plurality of lines and N rows, the two lines are synthesized while the N rows are kept and is changed to changed recording data RD<SB>1</SB>. A recording medium is moved in the direction corresponding to the X<SB>D</SB>direction while facing to N pieces of nozzles arranged in the direction corresponding to the Y<SB>D</SB>direction, and the changed recording data RD<SB>1</SB>is allotted to the N pieces of the nozzles on every specified time on line unit, by individually making respective rows to the respective nozzles. When the line of the changed recording data RD<SB>1</SB>allotted to the N pieces of the nozzles is the synthesized line of two lines of the recording data RD, the speed of movement of the recording medium is increased, and ink droplets are delivered from the nozzles to form dots 85 on the recording medium.
