An alloy for dentistry is based on one containing gold, platinum, silver and zinc. In this case palladium is also included. The wt.% of the components are: gold (80-85); platinum (3-8); silver (1-5); zinc (1-5) and palladium (3-8), so proportioned as to comprise a total of 100%. A small admixture of iridium, rhenium or ruthenium may also be included.
