A melody generation system and a method are provided to receive melody made by using a terminal and additional information, and to arrange the received melody and additional information, thereby making melody suitable for a personal taste. Melody arrangement information consisting of main melody generated from a terminal and additional information set for arrangement of the main melody is transmitted to a server(S11,S12). The server analyzes the received melody arrangement information to arrange the main melody according to the set additional information, and generates arranged melody(S13-S16). The server transmits the arranged melody to the terminal(S17).
