<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive, a control method, and a program capable of predicting a fault. <P>SOLUTION: A control section 19 acquires a retry rate, an error rate, or an LD current value as index values for indicating the level of problems occurring due to the disk drive 11 or a disk 21 from the execution results of recording processing or reading processing to the disk 21.
