PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a high-reliability electrode for a cold-cathode discharge tube that achieves a longer service lifetime of the cold-cathode discharge tube. SOLUTION: A method to manufacture an electrode for a cold-cathode discharge tube has a first step for forming a green body of an electrode body DH by molding a first kneaded mixture RB1 made of metal fine powder and a binder resin, a second step for adding a green body of a bonding layer 24 composed of a second kneaded mixture RB2 made of metal fine powder having a composition different from that of the first kneaded mixture RB1 and a binder resin to one end part 23 of the green body of the electrode body DH, and a third step for generating a metal electrode DK in which the electrode body DH and the bonding layer 24 are integrated by simultaneously baking the green body of the electrode body DH and the green body of the bonding layer 24.
