PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To freely replace processors whose HW straps are different without performing any switching operation of the mounting or non-mounting of components in changing the type of processor to be mounted on the computer. SOLUTION: This process switching device includes a processor type determination circuit 10 which determines the classification of a processor by receiving a processor classification signal 82 to be transmitted from processors 2 to 5 mounted on a computer and a present signal 83 showing that the processor is mounted after standby power source supply prior to the system power source supply of the computer, and transmits a system processor classification signal 81 as the result of determination and an HW setting switching circuit 20 which receives a system processor classification signal 81 from the processor classification determination circuit 10, and switches the HW setting of the processors 2 to 5 based on the signal 81.
