PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load compensation device, especially a load compensation device for a lifting appliance, equipped with a means constituted so that overload or underload is detected, and that the load compensation device is operated. SOLUTION: This load compensation device includes an actuator fitted on one end of the ends of one or more ropes supporting a carrying object 11 for displacing positively or negatively over a shorter distance in comparison with the length of one or more ropes, and is operated by a brushless motor 21 connected to a continuously variable speed transmission connected to the means for detecting overload or underload.
