PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film with high flatness by forming a cast film with a smooth surface. SOLUTION: A dope is cast over a casting band 46 traveling from a casting die. The cast dope forms a cast film 69, which in turn, passes through an air currentless zone 55a. The air currentless zone 55a is formed of an air current barrier plate 55, and the cast film 69 is dried by a drying air current 71, which is blown out of a slit 70 of a first air feed chamber 56. The drying air current 71 is blown out, guided by an angle setting plate 70a set at an angleθ2, and the angleθ2 falls within the range of 30°or higher to 60°or lower. In addition, the width W2 of the slit 70 falls with the range of 20 mm or above to 70 mm or below. The air current barrier plate 55 has an inflow blocking plate 76, which prevents an air current blowing in the nearly Y direction from coming into the air currentless zone 55a.
