A method for allocating label includes: allocating the first label as a multicast label to a LSP between the upstream LSR and downstream LSR (301); when the first label allocated to the multicast LSP is the same to the label used by the unicast LSP, remising the first label used by the unicast LSP between the upstream LSR and down stream LSR, and allocating the second label for the unicast LSP (302); reallocating the first label as the multicast label to the multi LSP between the upstream LSR and the downstream LSR (303). A method for remising label includes: when the first label that is allocated to the multicast LSP is the same to the first label used by the unicast LSP, release the unicast label, and allocate the second label to the unicast LSP. Otherwise, a LSR which contains a label releasing unit and a label allocating unit is provided. By using the invention, when the labels are conflict, the establish of the multicast tree can be ensure and the transmission process of the multicast data is simplified.
