A plasma display panel is provided to easily and stably generate address discharge by forming an electrode pattern in such a way that floating electrodes are opposite to address electrodes. X electrodes(130) are composed of X transparent electrodes(131) and X bus electrodes(132) which are disposed on a front substrate. Y electrodes(140) are composed of Y transparent electrodes(141) and Y bus electrodes(142) which are arranged in parallel with the X electrodes on the front substrate. Floating electrodes(150) are arranged in parallel with the Y bus electrodes, and are provided with protrusions(150b) protruding from portions which are parallel with the Y bus electrodes. Address electrodes(120) are located on a rear substrate, and are provided with protrusions(120b) opposite to the protrusions of the floating electrodes.
