<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barium calcium titanate powder being fine particles and having a low content of calcium titanate and a small crystal plane distance, and a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The barium calcium titanate powder is obtained by two step processes of heating at a temperature at which the weight change rate of a mixed powder is within the range of not less than 50% and not greater than 90% when the weight change rate of complete decomposition in thermogravimetric analysis of the mixed powder is 100% using a barium carbonate powder and a calcium carbonate powder both having a specific surface area of not less than 20 m<SP>2</SP>/g, and heating at a temperature higher than the temperature bringing about the weight change rate. The barium calcium titanate powder is composed of a perovskite type complex oxide of a barium calcium titanate as a main crystal phase and a calcium titanate as an auxiliary crystal phase, wherein the average particle size is not less than 60 nm and not greater than 150 nm; the crystal interplanar spacing d obtained by X-ray diffraction of the (111) plane of the barium calcium titanete is not less than 0.2308 nm and not greater than 0.23188 nm; and the X-ray diffraction intensity of the (110) plane of the calcium titanate is not grater than 1% of a X-ray diffraction intensity of the (110) plane of the barium calcium titanate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
