<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving image reproducing apparatus in which program contents of moving image data of the last time can be sufficiently obtained in a short period of time when reproducing and viewing a series of moving image data recorded on a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: Moving image data to be reproduced are designated from among a plurality of moving image data recorded on the recording medium. Moving image data recorded on the recording medium are retrieved, and moving image data having the same title as the designated moving image data and recording dates/times former than that of the moving image data are selected. The moving image data of the last time having a latest recording date/time are specified from the selected moving image data. A plurality of partial moving image data are thinned and read in order from the moving image data of the last time, and partial moving images based on the read partial moving image data are reproduced in order.
