PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer device and a pointer moving method capable of imparting surely a novel impression to an occupant. SOLUTION: The pointer 112 is moved from 0km/h to 180km/h in a scale in response to an on-operation of an ignition switch. The pointer 112 is moved while decelerated and stopped, and the pointer 112 is thereafter moved while accelerated, twice times during the moving in the range hereinbefore. The pointer 112 is moved from 180km/h to 0km/h after reaching 180km/h.
