PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concrete block capable of having a water retention property, curbing rises in the surface temperatures of roads and open spaces by the heat of vaporization when retained moisture evaporates, and suppressing heat-island phenomena in urban areas etc. SOLUTION: Ready-mixed concrete in which cement, aggregates, and water are kneaded is molded into a prescribed shape and solidified to acquire a concrete block. The grain diameter of the aggregates is 5 mm or less, Aggregates having grain diameters between 2.5 mm and 5 mm account for 5% or less of all the aggregates and aggregates having grain diameters between 1.2 mm and 2.5 mm account for 30-40% of all the aggregates in the concrete block.
