PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbostyril compound or its salt which up-regulates a TFF so that it is used for cure and/or prevention for various disorders such as a gastrointestinal disorder, an oral disorder, an upper respiratory disorder, a respiratory tract disorder, an eye disease, a canser and a wound. SOLUTION: The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composed of a carbostyril compound or its salt represented by general formula (1) where A is a directly bonded lower alkylene group or lower alkylidene group; X is an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; R4and R5are each a hydrogen atom; the third and fourth bonds of the carbostyril structure are a single bond or a double bond; R1is a hydrogen atom and the like; R2is a hydrogen atom and the like; and R3is a hydrogen atom and the like.
