The reflectometer has a signal separating device (2) for separating incident wave (7) and reflected wave (8) and delivering the waves to a logarithmic detector/amplifier. An adder to which the output signals of the detector with opposite signals are added such that a relative amplitude signal is producible. A varactor and ninety degree-splitter is utilized as a phase shifter. An EXOR-phase detector is provided for determining phase between a reference signal (R) and measuring signal (M). An independent claim is also included for a method for reflection measurement with a reflectometer.
