<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system that is capable of preventing the occurrence of discontinuance of power generation due to an increase of a fuel solution in an anion-exchange membrane fuel cell system, and to provide its operation method. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system 10 is provided with a cell stack 12 which includes an anode 12b, cathode 12c, and electrolytic membrane 12a with an anion-exchange membrane; an anode circulation means 13 which includes solution tanks 14a, 14b for retaining a methanol solution, so as to circulate and supply the methanol solution to the anode 12b; and a cathode circulation means 37 for circulating and supplying the methanol solution to the cathode 12c. The anode circulation means 13 and cathode circulation means 37 are respectively controlled so as to circulate and supply the methanol solution to the anode 12b from either of the solution tanks 14a, 14b, and to circulate and supply the methanol solution to the cathode 12c from the other of the solution tanks on the basis of a judgement result whether it is required to discharge the methanol solution to the outside or not. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
