<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PC card controller capable of recognizing new kinds of expansion cards. <P>SOLUTION: The PC card controller has an acquiring part for acquiring the ID information of a connected card using a technique compliant with standards; a first recording part for recording the card information and the ID information of one or more kinds of PC cards compliant with standards; and a second recording part for recording the card information and the ID information of one or more kinds of expansion cards not compliant with the standards. The PC card controller includes a PC card identifying part for identifying the kind of the connected card based on the ID information of the connected card and at least the ID information recorded in the second recording part, of the ID information recorded in the first and second recording parts, then outputting the result of the identification, and outputting the card information of the connected card; and a signal conversion part for establishing, based on the result of the identification, a line for communicating signals to the connected card using a format compliant with the standards. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
