PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily assemble a position pin after the assembly of a lever body to a shifter body. SOLUTION: This shift lever device is provided with an upper rod 20 with a guide groove 20b in its lower end part, a lower rod 21 with a guide groove 20b in its upper end part, and a lower rod position regulating means 25 regulating the rotational position of the lower rod 21 and the position in the central axis direction at a position corresponding to the insertion hole 16 of the position pin while having a projection part 26 in the lower rod 21 and a slit 27 in the lever body 10. In this occasion, the upper rod 20, the lower rod 21, and a spring 22 are inserted in the rod insertion hole 15 of the lever body 10, and the position pin 24 with an insertion tool 30 is inserted in the position pin insertion hole 16 of the lever body 10. The inserted insertion tool 30 comes into both guide grooves 20b, 21b of the upper rod 20 and the lower rod 21, and pushes and opens a distance between the upper rod 20 and the lower rod 21.
