PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for toners which enables to obtain a toner having excellent low-temperature fixability, high-temperature offset resistance and image quality, and a toner. SOLUTION: The resin composition for toners is obtained by reacting a branched polyester having a hydroxyl value of 20-100 and an average degree of branching of 2.1-7.0 with an isocyanate compound having two or more isocyanate groups in one molecule, wherein the average degree of branching is represented by expression (1), wherein Bu represents the average degree of branching; NOH represents the number of hydroxyl groups per 1 g of the branched polyester; N represents the number of molecules per 1 g of the branched polyester; Mn represents a number average molecular weight; OHV represents the hydroxyl value of the branched polyester; and 56.1 represents the molecular weight of potassium hydroxide.
