PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device for a rotary engine which opens a cylinder injection valve and improves ignitability in a working chamber at the time of engine start irrespective of freeze of moisture, immersion of lubricating oil or the like. SOLUTION: A gaseous hydrogen injection valve I1 is arranged in such a manner that it can inject fuel into each working chamber E1<SB>n</SB>, E2<SB>n</SB>performing suction stroke and compression stroke. In engine start, fuel injection is started from the condition where the gaseous hydrogen injection valve I1 faces the working chamber E2<SB>n</SB>in compression stroke before the valve comes into the working chamber E1<SB>n</SB>in suction stroke, and fuel injection is continued over an inside of the working chamber E1<SB>n</SB>in suction stroke.
