PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoplasmic reticulum reaction chip, a method for housing endoplasmic reticula, a method for retrieving a reaction liquid, and a method for retrieving endoplasmic reticula, so designed as to enable one cell to be housed in one chamber by a simple operation, to prevent a reaction liquid from being evaporated to dryness with affording a closed reaction system in one chamber, and to prevent the reaction liquid from being evaporated to dryness in retrieving it as well. SOLUTION: The endoplasmic reticulum reaction chip has such a structure that a transparent base plate 1 is successively accumulated with housing chamber-forming layers 2 and, thereon, recessed chamber-forming layers 4; wherein the housing chamber-forming layer 2 is provided with cylindrical housing chambers 3 each of which is so designed that the length of its minor axis or the shortest diagonal line is 1.1 times the average diameter of an endoplasmic reticulum 7 to be housed therein and the depth is 0.5-0.9 time the average diameter of an endoplasmic reticulum 7, and the recessed chamber-forming layer 4 is provided with recessed chambers 5 projectedly including the cylindrical housing chambers 3 and each of which is so designed that the depth is 0.5 time or less the average diameter of an endoplasmic reticulum 7.
