A method for packaging greenhouse gas credits with the sale of a machine includes estimating an amount of greenhouse gas emissions associated with one or more machines. The method also includes determining a quantity of greenhouse gas credits required to offset at least a portion of the greenhouse gas emissions of the one or more machines. The method further includes determining a sale price associated with the quantity of greenhouse gas credits. The method also includes providing a purchase package based on the determined sale price associated with the greenhouse gas credits to a prospective buyer of the machine.
