METHOD FOR EVALUATING RANDOM NOISE AND DEVICE OF THE SAME

A method for evaluating a random noise of an image sensor and an evaluation apparatus therefor are provided to evaluate the random noise by using the minimum memory size. An image sensor(110) includes at least one pixel, and outputs an image signal corresponding to light sensed in the pixel. An image capture unit(121) outputs image data after the image signal from the image sensor(110) is converted into a binary signal type. A calculating unit(132) calculates a random noise of the image sensor(110) on the basis of the image data provided from the image capture unit(121). A memory(131) stores the calculated result of the calculating unit(132). The calculating unit(132) calculates a deviation square between current image data and an average of previous image data stored in the memory(131), calculates the sum of a current deviation square on the basis of the sum of the deviation square and a previous deviation square stored in the memory(131), and calculates the random noise on the basis of the sum of the current deviation square.
