A heat protector is provided to prevent generation of crack by jointing to a cylinder head portion of weak thermal fatigue strength, and to save production cost by reducing a number of joint bolts without using a wire mesh. A heat protector includes a plurality of joint bosses(2) formed to be jointed to a cylinder head by inserting a joint bolt, and a wave formed in multi-stages so as to be connected to a plurality of insertion holes(5) formed in a catalytic protector(3). The wave is formed in continuous three-stages and includes a first wave closely contacted to the inner surface of the catalytic protector, a second wave closely contacted to the outer surface of the catalytic protector and a third wave provided so as to be spaced from the outer surface of the catalytic protector.
