A method for forming embossed patterns on pottery is provided to form embossed patterns easily and simply by attaching an embossed pattern to the surface of a molded pottery and produce a high quality of pottery, and to provide pottery having a high quality. A method for forming embossed patterns on pottery includes the steps of: kneading a select soil material for pottery, molding the kneaded soil into a pottery having a predetermined shape, and drying the molded pottery for 8-24 hours; applying a de-molding agent onto an embossed pattern mold; tamping the kneaded soil into the mold, and performing demolding to obtain an embossed pattern; coating the contact surface of the embossed pattern with water, attaching the pattern to the surface of the pottery, and trimming the border of the adhered pattern with a knife to form an embossed pattern on the pottery; drying the pottery in the shade for 3-7 days; firing the pottery at 900 °C for 12 hours, and cooling the pottery for a day; and glazing and drying the fired pottery, and firing the dried pottery at 1235-1240 °C and subsequently at 1200-1220 °C for 14 hours.
