<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and a sheet medium processing device, wherein a sheet medium with an image or document output thereon can be easily taken out. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet medium processing device includes a guide path 92 which, when a sheet medium with a developer image fixed thereon is output from the image forming apparatus 101, is connected to a path branch 37 that branches part of a medium path extending to a sheet ejecting tray section 7 located on the image forming apparatus side. The sheet medium processing device also includes a sheet ejection tray 91 for holding a sheet medium fed via a guide path. The sheet ejection tray is located below the sheet ejecting tray section.
