<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor that can flexibly and easily cope with system configuration change in control of a cooling fan. <P>SOLUTION: In the information processor, a cooling fan control circuit 22 refers to a fan speed table 200, and on the basis of a detection result from a temperature sensor 21, controls the rotation speed of the cooling fan 20 in multistages. The cooling fan control circuit 22, in coordination with a fan speed table setting utility 100 and under a condition that the fan speed table setting utility 100 is imposing a maximum load to a CPU11, performs test processing for monitoring the maximum temperature detected with the temperature sensor 21. Then, the cooling fan control circuit 22, by repeating the test processing while changing the setting of the fan speed table 200, determines a maximum stage number, among the stage numbers allocatable to the cooling fan 20, such that the maximum value of temperature detected when the maximum load is applied to the CPU11 is a predetermined value or below, thus automatically setting the fan speed table 200. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
