PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient method for tetrahedral interpolation computations using parallel command of a media processor and data level parallelism. SOLUTION: A method for transforming color space for an image processing system uses decimal number of CMYK values to identify the tetrahedral shape which includes mapped input points, calculates delta fractions (difference of decimal numbers), takes out node values of the tetrahedral shape, CM and YK from a 3D look up table, directly uses the values while executing the command to calculate interpolated outputs, packs the interpolated outputs, and adjusts the packed interpolated outputs by using mapping for every byte unit.
