PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder lock having a high resistance against illegal destructive manipulations. SOLUTION: The cylinder lock comprises a cylinder assembly 3 with a plug 2 inserted to a cylinder case 1 in a rotatable manner; a housing 5 receiving the cylinder assembly 3 while preventing its disengagement and falling to a key operating plane side by using a flange 4 directed inwardly; and a guard cap 6 covering a portion exposed to the key operating plane of the housing 5. The guard cap 6 contains an outer peripheral edge and comprises an outer ring portion 7 and an inner ring portion 9 which permits free idling for both the outer ring portion 7 and the housing 5 and also permits an exposure of its rotation boundary with the outer ring portion 7 in its front view in which the rotation boundary relative to the outer ring portion 7 can be seen.
