PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of posts without having to increase time and labor nor raise costs. SOLUTION: An earth retaining body 1 is installed in such a way as to surround an object range N of pit excavation. The ground within the object range N of pit excavation is excavated while wales 2 and trim beams 3 are installed to the earth retaining body 1 to support the earth retaining body 1 in a pit excavation method. In this pit excavation method, prior to the principal excavation of the ground within the object range N of pit excavation, a tower supporting part 4B for supporting a tower crane 4 is previously installed in such a way as to be supported on the ground G of a lower part of the bottom of a pit within the object range N of pit excavation. As the ground within the object range N of pit excavation is being excavated, the trim beams 3 are extended between the wales 2 and the crane supporting part 4B. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
