PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which prevents foreign matters from intruding into the inside of a workpiece in machining the workpiece having an opening part or in carrying it, surely closes the opening part irrespective of the shape of the opening part of the workpiece, and is easily handled. SOLUTION: Before machining a workpiece 10, the opening part 11 opened on the front and rear surface of the workpiece 10 is closed by a masking member 12 which is solid in a machining environment and made of material heated and melted at the lower temperature than the melting temperature of the workpiece 10. After machining the workpiece 10, the masking member 12 is heated and removed. The masking member 12 removed from the work 10 is recovered and reused. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
