PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna unit and a receiver, which enable the life of the receiver to be prolonged, can reduce physical loads of receiver wiring work when a reception antenna is mounted to a subject, and readily maintains the drip proofness of the receiver to be easily maintained. SOLUTION: The receiver includes: an antenna unit 2a equipped with a reception antenna A1 for receiving a radio signal transmitted by a MHz band from a capsule endoscopy 3, a main body part having a frequency conversion part 22 for converting the reception signal received by the reception antenna A1 into a GHz frequency signal and a transmission antenna 23 for transmitting the frequency signal converted by the frequency conversion part 22 as a radio signal, and a cable 21a; and an external unit 2b equipped with a reception antenna 31 for receiving the radio signal in the GHz band transmitted by the transmission antenna 2a, a reception part 32 for receiving the radio signal received with the reception antenna 31 to demodulate it, and a signal processing part 33 for generating image information and the like.
