A communication terminal and an access method, in which overhead in an access to a secure area controlled by an IC card can be reduced. The communication terminal comprises a handle acquiring section (105) for previously acquiring the handle of the secure area to be accessed under control by the IC card (200) upon opening of the card application of the IC card (200), an access table (101) for storing the handle acquired by the handle acquiring section (105), and an access means for accessing the secure area by using the handle of the secure area stored in the access table (101) when accessing the secure area.
