<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular headlamp capable of simply and surely obtaining overhead sign irradiating light forming a dark portion where illuminance is lower than its surroundings in a part of light distribution pattern. <P>SOLUTION: A lamp unit 18 is equipped with a reflecting surface 25b for overhead signs which reflects light from a light source 23a in the upper part of the light source 23a provided in the further rear of the rear side focus F of a projection lens 11, and a light-intercepting surface 28a for the overhead signs which is provided in the front of a movable shade 30 disposed between the projection lens 11 and the light source 23a to form the overhead irradiating light P2 by reflecting light from the reflecting surface 25a for the overhead signs toward the projection lens 11. An illuminance lowering means to reduce a part of the irradiating light is provided in the vicinity of the upper end of the movable shade 30 of the light-intercepting surface 28a for the overhead signs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
