PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver which avoids a state where broadcasts that can be channel-selected are eliminated or a broadcast is missed, by detecting abolition of an analog broadcast and automatically implementing channel scan of a digital broadcast, with the detection as a trigger, without user operation. SOLUTION: When it is detected by an analog broadcast abolition detection section 6 that an analog broadcast is abolished, the channel scan of a digital broadcast is automatically implemented by a digital broadcast channel scan execution section 7 without user operation, and the user is notified about a result of the channel scan execution.
