PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method using minimized equipment for allowing efficient improving work for an existing pipe in a city urban area or a site where a plurality of existing pipes are convergently buried, and complete digging can not be done. SOLUTION: The underground pipe improving method comprises: digging shafts on the beginning and terminal sides of the existing pipe buried in a ground to be improved until exposing the beginning and terminal sides of the existing pipe, coaxially inserting in the existing pipe an insertion pipe having a smaller diameter using the shaft on the beginning side; mounting a closing wall having a filling hole in a beginning side opening portion of the existing pipe and a closing wall having a suction hole in a terminal side opening portion; installing a hopper 12 near and above the shaft on the beginning side for storing filler; and also installing a suction device 13 near the shaft on the terminal side. The suction device sucks air in an cylindrical space formed between the existing pipe and the insertion pipe for the filler to flow into the cylindrical space. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
