PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amplifier in which low distortion and high amplification are achieved by using an extremely simplified means. SOLUTION: The amplifier comprises an input terminal receiving a high frequency signal externally, a distributor for distributing an inputted high frequency signal to two high frequency signals, a phase regulator for regulating the phase of one high frequency signal thus distributed, an amplitude regulator for regulating the amplitude of a high frequency signal subjected to phase regulation, a first amplifier for amplifying a high frequency signal subjected to phase regulation and amplitude regulation, a second amplifier having an amplifying circuit employing a semiconductor device material different from that of a semiconductor amplifying element employed in the amplifying circuit of the first amplifier and amplifying the other high frequency signal thus distributed, a synthesizer performing vector synthesis of a high frequency signal amplified by the first amplifier and a high frequency signal amplified by the second amplifier to produce a high amplification high frequency signal, and an output terminal for delivering the high amplification high frequency signal to the outside.
