PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for oral cavity excellent in retainability in oral cavity. SOLUTION: The composition for oral cavity comprises alginic acid or its salt, xanthan gum andκ-carrageenan. In the composition, mass ratio of the alginic acid or its salt toκ-carrageenan is not smaller than 1 and water content thereof is 5-35 mass% and when diluting the composition to 1.5 times with an artificial saliva containing a potassium ion and calcium ion and carrying out tensile strength test of the diluted composition by using a force gauge, tensile strength of the composition becomes 0.5-2N.
