In a signal transmitter for a multiple differential transmission system in which a signal transmitter is connected to a signal receiver via a signal transmission path formed by a first and a second signal line, a differential driver generates an output signal of bipolar 4 value and an inversed output signal as a phase-inversed signal of the output signal in response to a 2-bit bit information signal, outputs the output signal to the first signal line, and outputs the inversed output signal to the second signal line. A first comparison circuit of the signal receiver detects a first bit information signal by judging whether an absolute value of the terminal voltage generated at a terminal resistor connected between the signal lines is lower than a predetermined threshold value voltage. A second comparison circuit detects a second bit information signal by judging whether the polarity of the terminal voltage is negative.
