A plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent power consumption by discharging the voltage of a capacitor connected a source voltage of an address electrode driver without using a discharge resistor. A plasma display apparatus includes first, second, and third transistors. The first transistor(Ah) is connected between a first source voltage for supplying a first voltage(Va), which is supplied to a first electrodes, and the first electrodes during an address period. The second transistor(Al) is connected between a second source voltage(GND) for supplying a second voltage lower than the first voltage and the first electrodes. The third transistor is connected between a third source voltage for supplying a third voltage lower than the first voltage and the first electrodes. A panel capacitor is charged a fourth voltage by turning on the first and third transistors. Then, the panel capacitor is discharged by turning off the first transistor and by turning on the second transistor.
