<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bending mechanism which has a small diameter, and can shorten the bending length while having a simple and inexpensive constitution. <P>SOLUTION: A first tubular structure 101 and a second tubular structure 102 are connected by a springy member 104, and the second tubular structure 102 and a third tubular structure 103 are connected by a springy member 105. The distal end side of a shape memory alloy wire 109 which is freely slidably inserted in a tube-like member 111 is attached to the second tubular structure 102 at an area 112. In the same manner, the distal end side of a shape memory alloy wire 106 is attached to the first tubular structure 101. A cylindrical member 110 which keeps the shape memory alloy wire 109 inserted and is connected with the tube-like member 111 is fixedly attached to the third tubular structure 103.
