<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmentally benign transition metal compound having an ordered olivine or a rhombohedral NASICON structure, containing polyanion (PO<SB>4</SB>)<SP>3-</SP>as at least one constituent, and being used as an electrode material for an alkali-ion rechargeable battery. <P>SOLUTION: This is a positive electrode material for a rechargeable electrochemical cell. The cell is provided with even a negative electrode and an electrolyte, and the positive electrode contains a compound having a formula LiMPO<SB>4</SB>, M is at least one first-row transition metal cation, and at least one transition metal cation is made to be the positive electrode material which is Mn cation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
