PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the influence of local noise such as urban noise.

SOLUTION: A receiver 20 for a block transmission system receives a signal block transmitted from a transmitting side and performs equalization processing for each reception signal block. Said receiver comprises a local noise detection unit 25 for detecting local noise that exists locally within a reception signal block and of which the amplitude is larger than that of the signal; a local noise elimination processing unit 27 for generating a local noise eliminated reception signal block in which a signal within a range where the local noise exists, in the reception signal block is eliminated together with the relevant local noise; and an equalizer 24 which performs equalization processing based on the local noise eliminated reception signal block.
