PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a user's burden of memorizing passwords, and to naturally prevent a user from forgetting a plurality of passwords the user's daily operations, as well as, without the need for new special operations. SOLUTION: A password managing section 103 of a portable telephone 100 stores passwords that are to be set for respective functions, other than an alarm function of the portable telephone 100, and an alarm performing section 108 starts an alarm at a prescribed time. A password-verifying section 109 verifies a password, which is input by the user when the alarm is started, with a password stored in the password managing section 103; and an alarm control section 106 stops the alarm performing section 108, if a matching result is obtained in the verification of the password-verifying section 109.
