PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a plasma display panel wherein materials can be used without wasting them, and a phosphor layer can be highly precisely formed. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method has a first process 1 to fill wax particles in which phosphors are dispersed in wax in a plurality of discharge cells 4, a process 2 to fix the phosphors in the discharge cells 4 by solidifying the wax particles after heating and dissolving the wax particles in the discharge cells 4 by irradiating laser to prescribed discharge cells 4 among a plurality of the discharge cells 4 filled with the wax particles, and a process 3 to remove the wax particles filled in the discharge cells 4 other than the prescribed discharge cells 4 in this order, and also has a process 4 to make the phosphor layer by fixing the phosphor to the inner wall of the discharge cell 4 by evaporating the wax in the discharge cell 4 after repeating the process 1-3 for every color of the phosphor dispersed in the wax particles.
