PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester for toners which excels in low-temperature fixability, storage stability and durability and suppresses emission of a foul odor, and a toner containing the polyester. SOLUTION: The polyester for toners is obtained by condensation polymerization of an alcohol component and a carboxylic acid component containing fumaric acid modified rosin.
